DinnerJoy Privacy Policy

DinnerJoy is a family dinner companion. We designed it to keep your data private and to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.

What stays on your device

Your pantry, ingredients, dinner picks, saved meals, profiles, and settings are stored locally on your device. The app works fully offline for these features.

What we process when you use the cloud features

Some optional features use a backend (Firebase) operated for DinnerJoy:

• Sign in with Apple: if you create an account, we receive the account identifier Apple provides. We do not receive your password.
• Family sync: family membership, invite codes, and shared dinner votes are stored so household members can share a plan.
• AI dinner ideas: when you ask for fresh ideas, the ingredients and preferences relevant to that request are sent to our backend, which calls OpenAI to generate suggestions. We do not send your name or contact details. OpenAI processes the request on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.
• Subscriptions: purchases are handled by Apple and verified through RevenueCat. We store whether your household has an active subscription, not your payment details.

What we do NOT do

• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app. Deleting your account removes your account record and the household data associated with it from our backend. Local data is removed when you delete the app.

Children

DinnerJoy is marketed to parents, who set up the household and manage the account. It is designed to be family-friendly and does not include third-party ads or tracking.
